We can all use a warm chuckle from time to time. So here’s a light-hearted guest post from Zoe Geven — a kaizen dog paddler — for your entertainment and amusement.

Zoe’s family, Tamara St. Claire and Richard Geven, live in the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoy running, biking and, increasingly, swimming. About a year ago they decided to do their first triathlon together. Richard had no swimming experience so they began looking around for swim instruction. A training buddy encouraged them to explore Total Immersion.
They attended a weekend workshop at San Mateo College and came away with, not just efficient strokes, but a passion for swimming. They attended the TI Open Water Experience at Maho Bay on St John USVI Jan 6-13, where Tamara displayed her utter comfort swimming in ‘sporty’ water. And Richard, though only a year into his swimming journey,by week’s end was keeping pace with strong, experienced swimmers (and our coaches) .
Our next Open Water Experience will be March 25-30 in Kailua Kona HI — we’ll swim in several places, but most often on the course for the Ironman World Championship. We will also hold a pool-based TI Effortless Endurance Workshop in Kailua on March 23-24. Info here.
Lots of fun.
Quite a thoughtful and fun piece, Tamara, Richard, and Zoe. All three of you get a 10 from me!!
There’s simply no end of the good TI does in this world; all those of us who have benefited from TI owe a huge THANK YOU! to Terry for his vision, persistence, creativity, and enthusiasm to help others help themselves.
THANK YOU TERRY!!
